Bronze, 1.75' H x 6' L X 3' W. Commissioned by King County Public Library System for Des Moines Public Library in Des Moines, WA. Stevenson used satellite imagery to faithfully sculpt on the carapace the land, waterways, and surrounding mountain ranges of the Puget Sound region. Based on creation stories of Turtle-who-carries-the-world told throughout time in many forms by many cultures.
