Idea or request > sketches > armature > sculpting in clay, wood, or plaster > making a rubber mold > using the mold to make a wax replica > at the foundry the wax is covered in a ceramic slurry or plaster and the wax is melted out > molten bronze is poured into the cavity of the ceramic mold > the bronze positive may be in several pieces > the pieces are welded together, the weld marks are ground out > color is applied, usually with heat and chemicals > the sculpture is installed, usually with a base created for it > a lasting work of art!
